I'm not sure which cookies you are referring to but the correct spelling could be Gemelli... which means Twins.

Does anyone know the spelling for Italian Egg White cookies...Gemmeli? Jummelli? Gemeli? HELP!!! I' ve been making these since I was a kid but I can't seem to find the correct spelling!
