When I started thinking seasonally, I thought of Bollito Misto in the winter, and anything with Fagioli, and of course, Mostarda di Cremona. In the spring, the choices are never-ending: asparagus,...When I started thinking seasonally, I thought of Bollito Misto in the winter, and anything with Fagioli, and of course, Mostarda di Cremona. In the spring, the choices are never-ending: asparagus, raspberries, peas, spinach, chicory (especially puntarelli), insalata campagnola, mollecche, and shad, just to name a few. And at Easter, there has to be capretto! In the summer, I recall granita, peaches, anything alla vongole, tomatoes, zucchini and zuppa di pesce.
In the fall, my favorite time, eggplant, artichokes, peppers, zucca, pears, the funghi porcini and the new, robust, red wines! Show more 14 years ago

and for the days that are still blank please propose a food product or recipe that you believe should be celebrated on that specific day. Please keep in mind that the designation should be done on the basis of the product being in seasor or it is tied to a strong cultural/historical/religious tradition.
